Pioneering Circular Business Models in Vietnam
Yunus Environment Hub Vietnam, in collaboration with the GIZ Go Circular Program and CIRCO, is excited to introduce the CIRCO Hub Vietnam. Launching on April 19, 2024, and operating until March 30, 2025, the CIRCO Hub aims to drive the adoption of circular economy principles and practices in Vietnam by fostering the development and implementation of effective circular business models within existing companies.

The Need for a Circular Economy in Vietnam
As Vietnam experiences rapid industrial growth, the country faces significant environmental challenges. The traditional linear economic model of ‘take-make-waste’ has led to increased waste generation, pollution, and resource depletion. Transitioning to a Circular Economy, which focuses on designing out waste and pollution, keeping products and materials in use, and regenerating natural systems, is crucial for Vietnam’s sustainable development and aligns with the country’s increasing focus on green growth and reducing environmental impact.

The Role of CIRCO Hub Vietnam
The CIRCO Hub Vietnam will play a vital role in promoting and facilitating the transition to a circular economy in the country. As a member of the Prevent Waste Alliance, Yunus Environment Hub (YEH) and Yunus Environment Hub Vietnam have consistently worked towards this goal through various programs engaging companies across different sectors. The CIRCO Hub takes these efforts to the next level by:

1. Activating and enabling businesses to identify and act on circular business models within their operations
2. Providing consultancy and implementing training for local companies on circular economy (CE) models, building their capacities on these models
3. Offering mentoring to enterprises in Vietnam to aid in the development of their circular business models

CIRCO Tracks: A Comprehensive Approach
The CIRCO Hub Vietnam will coordinate and conduct five CIRCO tracks, from the fourth to the eighth, following the completion of the T2T programme. These tracks provide a comprehensive approach to understanding and implementing circular business models, offering businesses the knowledge, tools, and support they need to successfully transition to a circular economy.
